How thick are the layers in the floor?

Glover Sure posted this on 2 Feb 2017

The minimum overall depth of the Sublime floor system is 250mm, built up from 150mm Glapor and 100mm Limecrete.

The Glapor minimum depth of 150mm is required for achieving the necessary compaction and providing damp protection, however as an insulation the depth can be increased to improve thermal performance. The depth of insulation has an impact on the warmth and comfort of the room and the long-term energy consumption/running costs, please complete the online calculation form which will allow us to work out the depth required for your specific building.

The Limecrete is a standard 100mm for most projects unless there are specific requirements that dictate a thicker slab, this is suitable for floors with or without underfloor heating. For situations that require structural capacity a structural engineer will need to run a calculation to determine if the limecrete is suitable and if so what thickness will be required, based on the flexural / compressive strength of the limecrete.
