Their Applications
Ty-Mawr's systems and products have a variety of applications.
Retrofit Insulation Systems for Old Buildings with Timber Frame Extension
In the UK, 1 in 4 of our homes are pre-1919 ‘solid’ wall construction. In the drive towards energy efficiency and carbon savings, we are all being encouraged to insulate our homes but care must be taken with older buildings as they need to maintain vapour permeability, i.e. to manage moisture, therefore any insulation solution must also be vapour permeable to avoid the problems that we now know are associated with trapped moisture. At Tŷ-Mawr, we have developed a number of systems using environmentally friendly materials that both respect and support the nature of these buildings as well as the planet. These systems are now all registered with Local Authority Building Control.
Tŷ-Mawr has developed a series of systems with Local Authority Building Control (LABC) registered detail using exclusively sustainable building materials which are highly suitable for low impact, low carbon, new build construction. The Government aim to reduce CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050 and the embodied carbon in building materials is likely to play an ever increasing part in helping them to achieve this target with an estimated 210,000 households per annum needing to be built up until 2037. Tŷ-Mawr’s systems for wall, floor and roof build ups are suitable for everything from individual, architect designed buildings to self builds to commercial housing schemes. They can be adapted for most building types from masonry Construction to lightweight timber frame.
