Can Falu Rödfärg be used on wooden furniture?

Falu Rödfärg is not suggested to be used on wooden furniture. While its life expectancy is between 8 and 10 years, the linseed oil in Falu Rödfärg works as a glue and makes the earth pigment adhere well but it also feeds the wood and so gradually absorbs over time, protecting the wood but eventually the glue effect will start to degrade and so you may experience the paint dusting if you touch the surface, leaving a red/black dust on skin and clothing. Sun, frost and rain will increase the speed of the break down of the linseed oil. When this starts to happen, it is time to sand back and repaint!
