Plaster onto Boards

Insulation and plaster carrying boards are different substrates to the traditional masonry that lime plasters are normally applied to, the background suction and physical key varies depending on the board used so we have put together a list of our preferred products to use for optimal adhesion.

Ty Mawr Lime Hemp: Our favourite internal finish for any of the boards, the hemp plaster is 100% British, made with non-hydraulic lime is it the most vapour open choice to manage humidity and improve indoor air quality. The hemp shiv is a lightweight grown aggregate that locks up CO2 and provides a strong fibrous coating to the boards. With a range of different top coats available we have a surface finish to suit any project.

SecilTek Isovit and Reabilita Cal AC: A hydraulic lime based system produced by Secil, this combines the Isovit Lime and a render mesh for the base coat, with the Reabilita Cal AC for the finish. This system creates a flat finish with some texture suitable for external use which can be refined using an additional coat of Reabilita Cal AC Fino for a finer internal finish.
