What finishes are appropriate?

The following products are suitable for use with Ty-Mawr’s lime plasters and renders.

Limewash - is the traditional paint used to finish lime work both internally and externally. Ty-Mawr's high-quality limewash is the ideal paint to use on lime plaster/render or masonry/brick pointed with lime mortar as it is the most vapour permeable paint. This is an extremely cost-effective paint and has good coverage - 20 litres will cover 60-80sqm per coat. Clay Paint - is a luxurious ultra-matt emulsion with great coverage power, perfect for interior walls and ceilings. It is highly breathable, it is free of oils and acrylics and virtually VOC free. Beeck’s Paint –

Maxil - A beautifully, natural, mineral (silicate) paint which is solvent-free and breathable making it suitable for all interior living areas and commercial premises creating a healthy indoor environment. Available in a range of 57 shades. Please contact us for a colour chart.

Rensoil - Suitable for external walls, this is a highly technical, pure silicate paint, free of artificial resins, solvents and biocides. It has been produced and used in Germany for 100 years and so has an excellent track record.

A passive silicate paint designed for previously painted surfaces, difficult to treat surfaces and thin-coat acrylic renders. Available in a range of 57 shades. Please contact us for a colour chart.

Graphenstone

GCS - is an EcoGreen paint with a matte colour finish suitable for interior and exterior walls. Ideal for construction, restoration and repainting, is free of all toxic substances and also highly breathable. Manufactured with Graphenstone technology, providing resistance, durability and prevention of condensation.

Grafclean - is ecoGreen paint with a matte finish suitable for both interior and exterior walls. It is free of all toxic substances and also highly breathable. The product contains lime which acts as a natural preservative thus eliminating the use of harmful chemicals and/or carcinogenic materials. Manufactured with Graphenstone technology, providing resistance and durability.

Surfapore - is a water-based solution based on nanotechnology that achieves effective water repellency and protection of structural surfaces. SurfaPore™ C penetrates porous substrates, capillaries and microcracks more effectively than conventional impregnation products. Unlike conventional products, which create a "plastic" protective film, SurfaPore™ C impregnates, waterproofs and protects surfaces by penetrating deep into the pores of materials without creating a film or change the surface appearance.

Wall Glaze - is a water-based, breathable, transparent glaze for interior use. When diluted it provides a washable, protective low sheen glaze for walls painted with Earthborn Claypaint. It can be used as a stabiliser on powdery coatings. Mixed with Earthborn Pigment it is suitable for all broken work (e.g. sponging, marbling, woodgraining) or as a colour wash.
