The use of colour in the natural environment compliments Ty-Mawr's commitment to thoughtful design and our holistic approach to environmental conservation. to provide a finish for buildings with a sense of place and belonging in their landscape. The use of colour in the natural environment compliments Ty-Mawr's commitment to thoughtful design and our holistic approach to environmental conservation. It is fitting that paints which work with the environment, allow buildings to 'breathe', should find their provenance in bedrock, vegetation, earth and sea.

Silicate Mineral Paint - this paint has been made from water glass for over 100 years. The popularity throughout Europe is based on its incredible durability as it bonds to the surface to which it is applied - becoming part of the fabric of the building. Just as importantly, it functions in the same way as the building i.e. it continues to let older buildings 'breathe'.

It is suitable for most backgrounds, a primer may be required – see below!

Ideal for old buildings (to maintain breathability) and sustainable new builds (minimal environmental impact).

Properties

  • Universal use – including lime plaster, gypsum plaster, pre-painted surfaces, concrete, wallpaper etc
  • Easy to use – apply by brush/roller (which can just be washed out with warm water!)
  • Mould resistant (due to it’s alkalinity – it will not promote mould growth)
  • Free from solvents (so healthier to work and live with)
  • Valuable room climate properties (which helps to regulate humidity)
  • Soft, matt finish
  • approx 8sqm per Lt
  • conforms to VOB/C DIN 18363 2.4.1
Surface Preparation/Primers
