Mineral Paint - Ty-Mawr Range

This is a highly technical, pure silicate paint, free of artificial resins, solvents and biocides, which is suitable for external walls. It has been produced and used in Germany for 100 years and so has an excellent track record.

It is vapour permeable providing perfect conditions to protect masonry and plaster from moisture accumulation but unlike other vapour peremeable paints e.g. limewash, it is actually water-repellant.

It is non-flammable and no toxic gases are produced in the event of a fire, it is also mould resistant and lightfast.

This paint is extremely durable if applied correctly to a suitable substrate - it 'cures' through a natural, silification process resulting in a permanent, inseparable coating unlike artificial resin paints, it is therefore an economic, long term option as the life of the paint is expected to be 25-30 years.

Suitability - it is appropriate for all mineral substrates - cement, lime, stone or burnt clay substrate and can be applied to non-mineral substrates BUT it is important that the correct primers, surface preparations etc are used - please call or email for system charts or NBS specification clauses or look at the technical sheets in documentation or use our product calculators on this website to help you work through what you might need.
