Beeck's Silicate Masonry Paint - is an exterior purely inorganic paint, free of artificial resins, solvents and biocides. It is vapour permeable providing perfect conditions to protect masonry and plaster from moisture accumulation. It is non-flammable and no toxic gases are produced in the event of a fire, it is also mould resistant, non-toxic and lightfast. It is extremely durable if applied correctly to a suitable substrate - they set through a silification process resulting in a permanent, inseparable coating unlike artificial resin paints. It is appropriate for all mineral substrates - cement, lime, stone or burnt clay substrate - bonding coats need to be applied to allow this to happen to non-mineral surfaces. It is important that the correct materials are used - please call or email for system charts.
Benefits
- they have an excellent historic pedigree dating back to 1884.
- Beeck are one of only two manufacturers who currently produce these single component mineral paints that still form active silica bonds with the background. This is what gives them such incredible durability - lasting many decades.
- they have a "breathability" (water vapour permeability) comparable to limewash which results in healthier, drier buildings.
- they protect against natural and chemical weathering, smog, and dirt penetration, algae and fungal growth are incombustible and light fast.
- they are completely non-toxic and contains no VOC's, this makes them safe for you and your familiy to work and live with.
Tips - This paint is exceptional in that it is not only able to bond to natural surfaces such as brick/stone but also to 'difficult to coat' surfaces where a modern paint may have been applied and cannot be removed. Application charts are available to help you to choose the right system on your wall - email tymawr@lime.org.uk
